Florida Outdoors

Florida Outdoors can be a very energizing and relaxing experience. Typically when people come to Florida, the first thing they want to do is to go to the beaches. And understandably so. Florida has some of the most beautiful White sand beaches in the Country. Not to mention the Emerald Green water. Or Cerilian Blue, depending on which side of the State you’re on.

Florida Outdoors – Parks & Camping

Do you like camping or RVing? Then you have definitely come to the right State. Florida has some of the best parks and camping grounds from the Top of the State to the Bottom and from Coast to Coast. Wherever you feel like setting up camp, our campgrounds will keep you entertained.

Take for example Devil’s Den Spring. If swimming is your thing, you’re going to flip over this prehistoric swimming hole. These magnificent translucent waters fill an ancient sinkhole that is nestled in the small town of Williston. One of the most amazing facts about these waters is that the spring’s temperature remains at a comfortable 72 degrees year-round. If you enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving, this is a whole new experience. You’ll want to arrive early to secure your spot.

Whether you are tent camping or RVing the prices are so reasonable, it’s practically a steal. There may be only one drawback, and that is the Park’s strict no-pet policy. Sorry, but the fur babies will have to room and board somewhere else.

Bicycling Outdoors Is Free Stuff On Florida’s Trails

Don’t fret, for those of you who are walkers and pet owners, there is a wonderful Trail in Pinellas County, also known as, The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail. And there is a section of the trail in Dunedin, FL that allows leashed dogs. Oh, while you’re there you have to check out the beautiful downtown area.

A fun fact about the trail, it was created along an area of an abandoned railroad corridor. The Northern tip of the trail begins in Tarpon Springs. This is another historic town and the Greek food is the most delicious you will find. More about that later.

For bicyclists of all types, the Pinellas County Trail is a scenic 45.1 miles long. It has been averaged to take approximately 13 ¼ hours to ride. And the best part is it’s FREE! There’s even free parking no matter where you start. My husband and I love to ride the trail. We’ll drive 20 to 30 minutes from home to find a different starting point. And the ride on a bike, even on the hottest days, feels cool thanks to all the shade from the trees. We have a favorite spot near the Bay Pines V. A. Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. It crosses over a body of water and there is a KOA Campground site right off the trail as well.
